Adding External Links to Landing Pages

Your landing pages can contain text links to external web pages. Here's how to set it up.

Updated over a week ago

Add external text links to your landing page, with your own custom calls-to-action.

You have two options for adding external links to your landing pages:

  • add a hyperlink to your copy directly, or

  • add a link collection

Let's talk about both options.

NOTE: You can also add a collection of icons instead of text links!

Option 1: Add a hyperlink

Highlight the copy to which you'd like to add a hyperlink. If that text is able to have a link added to it, a text formatting toolbar will pop up above it. Click the link icon, then add your URL in the space provided:

Finally, click the red 'Add Link' button. That's it!

NOTE: If the link icon doesn't come up in the toolbar after highlighting the text, then that text is not able to have a hyperlink added to it at this time.

Option 2: Create a link collection

You can add link collections to supported paragraph text areas. These are great for groups of related links!

To add a link collection, first click on the paragraph as if to edit it, then click the plus sign (+) icon to the left.

If you’re inside of a paragraph where collections are supported, you’ll find the 'Links' option in the list:

This will add a link collection, which you can customize as needed!

NOTE: Collections are supported in most paragraphs, but not all of them. If you don’t see an option to add a collection, it isn’t supported on that area of the page yet. We’ll be adding collections to more parts of our templates over time!

Configure individual links

To configure the CTA for a link, type directly within it:

To configure the settings for individual link, click on it to reveal its settings in the left sidebar. Here's an overview of each option:

URL

Enter the URL you'd like your link to point to.

Icon type

Select 'No icon' here if you don't want an icon next to your link. If you do want an icon, leave 'Social icon' selected (and then select which icon to display below).

Icon

Assuming 'Social icon' is selected above, here you can select which icon you'd like displayed next to your link.

NOTE: This option won't be displayed if you select 'No icon' under 'Icon type'.

Rearrange or remove links

To rearrange and/or remove links from the collection, first click on any of the links. Then, from the 'Rearrange elements' section in the left sidebar, you can drag & drop them to rearrange, and click the X to remove them:

Style the link collection

To configure the link collection as a whole, click the settings button above the collection itself:

This will reveal its overall style settings in the left sidebar:

Link color & text styles

Set the color scheme & text styling for the links in your collection.

Icon style options

Here you can configure the appearance of the icons in your link collection. Select whether you'd like to use the icon's default platform color or set your own, as well as disable or configure the border around the icons themselves.

NOTE: If you selected 'No icon' for your links, these settings won't have any visible effect.

Link collection styles

These settings will affect all the links in your collection. Select how rounded you'd like their corners, whether you'd like a drop shadow (and if so, what size), and whether you'd like your links to be displayed in a 1- or 2-column layout.

☝️ Bonus: pro-tip!

Too many external links on a landing page can run the risk of lowering your conversion rate by distracting potential subscribers from signing up.

Consider adding link collections on your thank you pages instead, to encourage your subscribers to connect with you further after signing up to your email list!
