New Commission Model
Our new affiliate model will provide 30% recurring commission for 24 months after the referral. Beginning March 1, 2022, you’ll receive payments every month for two years after each referral.
Every account you’ve already referred will pay out a 30% recurring commission for at least 24 months from the date they signed up. For example, if an account signed up and became a paid customer on January 1, 2022 you’ll receive payments for that account through January 1, 2024.
This means starting on March 1st, we’ll be only rewarding commissions for accounts referred within the last 24 months. You will still receive payouts in March and April for accounts more than 24 months old, since those commissions were earned in January and February and are paid out 30 days after the month the commission is generated.
Later in the year, we’ll release an optional plan with a $75 upfront commission (instead of 30% recurring) for the affiliates who prefer that model, since it’s a better fit for some affiliates.
What will happen to paid account referrals that are over 24 months old?
Once a referred account hits 24 months, we will no longer pay commissions on those accounts. This takes into account any past and future referrals.
What happens to free account referrals made before March 1, 2022?
All of your historical referrals on a free account or free trial will be moved into the new model. If any of these referrals become paid customers after March 1, 2022, they will fall under the new commission model.
How will payouts work?
As a reminder, there is a minimum delay of 30 days before approving pending commissions. As a result, you will still receive payouts in March and April for accounts more than 24 months old. This is because those commissions were earned in January and February 2022, and are paid out 30 days after the month the commission is generated. Starting on March 1, 2022, the new commission model will launch, and we will only be creating commissions for accounts referred within the last 24 months. Taking into consideration the 30-day delay, you will start to receive the new commission model payouts starting on May 1, 2022.
