The Content Page

For a brand new Broadcast, the page will look something like this to begin with:

This page is where you input your subject line (you can even run A/B tests between multiple subject lines!) and email content (and if you’re looking for a guide on the email editor, look no further!).

You can also select your email template, and see both a Browser and Email preview of your content (you can input any email address to send a preview to). These options are available in the sidebar to the right-hand side of the page. You can even make a copy of your Broadcast from there, by clicking the ‘Duplicate Broadcast’ button.

There's also a word counter in the bottom righthand corner to keep track of the length of your email! Here's how it looks on our new email editor:

The Block Editor

Within your ConvertKit Broadcast, you can select the Block Editor within the copy itself to make things even easier! Here's how it works: 

  • Click into the text portion of your Broadcast. You should see a small plus icon appear. Click that icon.
  • The Block Editor will appear when you click the plus icon, giving you lots of options:

From here you can edit your text, add a file, button, personalization, insert and image, and more. 


Here’s an example of what the Broadcast page might look like once you’re done adding your awesome content:

When you’re happy with how it’s looking, click the ‘Next Step’ button located at the bottom right of the page.

The Preview Page

We’re almost ready to send — promise!

On this page you will see a preview of what your Subscribers will see in their inbox, including any customizations added in your template. 

You even have the option to input a specific Subscriber’s email address, to see exactly what that specific recipient will see when it lands in their inbox:

Did you notice something you want to fix? No worries — you can still go back to the content page and make any adjustments if needed, by clicking ‘Content’ located at the top right of the page here:

Once you’ve checked everything twice, you should be feeling ready to send your Broadcast immediately, save it as a draft, or schedule it for the future. Here’s how to do each:

To Send Immediately 💨

Click the big red "Send Broadcast" button!

To Save a Draft ✍🏻

Click "Save Draft" in the bottom right corner of the page.

To Schedule for the Future 🔮

Click the "(schedule)" link next to "Send immediately". Choose your date and time, and then click "Schedule Broadcast":

That’s all there is to it! 

But, the fun isn’t over yet: once your Broadcast is sent, you’ll get the opportunity to analyze its stats and data. We’ll go over that in our next article!
