✋Let's make sure you're in the right place! This article is specific to not being able to see your forms (or landing pages) available for selection in our WordPress plugin. If you're able to select your form(s), but they're not displaying on your site, please check out this troubleshooting guide instead!
Not seeing your form or landing page in our WordPress plugin? Here's what to do.
There are a few reasons why your form or landing page might not be available for selection in the ConvertKit WordPress plugin, and the fix may be as simple as clicking a button.
The following steps will resolve this issue in the majority of cases! Let's get started.
1. Refresh your forms
You can force our plugin to check your ConvertKit account for any new forms, and make them available for selection. In most cases, this will fix the problem.
From the sidebar of your WordPress site, click Settings → ConvertKit. This will take you to the overall settings page for the plugin.
Next, click the 'Refresh forms' button located here:
After that, check if your forms are now showing in the dropdown. If they're still not there, please proceed to the next troubleshooting step.
2. Confirm you're checking the correct dropdown
It's important to note that forms & landing pages will show up in separate places in the WordPress plugin.
Landing pages will show up on the page editor only, in the landing pages dropdown indicated below:
This is because landing pages take over an entire page on your site, unlike forms, which are embedded within a page on your site (more information on the difference here).
Not sure whether your opt-in is set up as a form or landing page?
It's easy to check! From the forms page in your ConvertKit account, locate the title of your opt-in in the list/grid under the graph, then take note of the icon to its left:
If it looks like the icon on the left, it's a landing page. If it looks like the icon on the right, it's a form.
✨TIP: Unsure about the difference between forms & landing pages, or when you should use each? We have a guide here!
If that didn't help, please proceed to the next step.
3. Reset your API connection
If the 'Refresh forms' button didn't help, and you double-checked that you're looking in the correct dropdown for your type of opt-in (i.e. form or landing page), then you may need to reset your API connection.
The process is very straightforward! Here's how to do it:
- Navigate to the settings page of the ConvertKit plugin by going to Settings (on the WordPress sidebar) → ConvertKit.
- On the plugin's settings page, you'll see sections for 'API Key' and 'API Secret'. Remove the text in both of those fields.
- Save your changes (with the fields still blank) via the 'Save Changes' button at the bottom of the page.
- Copy your API Key & Secret back into their respective fields. You can find these values on this page in your account settings (you'll need to click 'Show' to reveal the Secret).
- Save your changes again.
☝️NOTE: If you see an 'Error connecting to API' message after this process, simply click the 'Refresh forms' button again that that should fix it.
You should now be able to access all of your forms and landing pages in their respective dropdowns.
