LeadLinks Integration

If you're a LeadPages user and want to have the LeadLinks feature pushed to ConvertKit, it's very doable. You just need to swap some of the default form variables with ConvertKit's. Here's how.

In your LeadLinks options, make sure you have "Custom" selected from the dropdown menu.

After you've selected "Custom", the link below will be editable. Here's where ConvertKit comes in.

Following the number string (...7520) in the example above, swap in these variables:

/?name= {{ subscriber.first_name }}/email= {{ subscriber.email_address }}

Just realize your link's number string will be different than the example above, don't mess with that.

And you're good to go. You can pass that link around to anyone who needs it to get on your list, and all the reader will need to do is click. Just paste it into a broadcast email. For backup, check the Lead Notifications option on integrations so you will still get a ping from LeadPages when there's a new subscriber.

But, did you know ConvertKit has a similar, easier function?

LeadLinks are normally used to add a person to a list or segment without entering their email address a second time. Because no one likes that. We just want it to work like magic. With ConvertKit, magic is coded in.

Use Case #1 - Webinar Signup

You have a webinar coming up and you want people to register. Instead of asking your list members to enter their email again on a form, create a link trigger in Automations! Here's an example:

  1. Name the link
  2. Set the url (we use the webinar confirm page)
  3. Tag as "registered"

Then do the same thing when you send the live webinar link, just create a tag for "attended" and remove "registered".

Use Case #2 - Product Interest

You are going through a product launch and sending emails to your list. Create a trigger for the sales link, so you know who has expressed interest, but hasn't pulled the trigger yet. Later, you can send an email specifically to this group, while excluding the buyers.

All with one click.
