Using the SparkLoop platform, you can create Partner Programs and Referral Programs to incentivize others to recommend your newsletter!
Here's how each program works, in a nutshell:
Partner Program: This program lets you offer payment to creators who recommend subscribers to you via the Creator Network. More information on such Paid Recommendations here.
Referral Program: This program helps you generate unique referral links to reward subscribers who recommend your newsletter to others.
If you have a Creator plan, you can access Partner Programs for free—Referral Programs is a Creator Pro plan feature only. If you have a Creator Pro plan, you can access Partner Programs and Referral Programs for free. 🤩
To get started, create a SparkLoop account and go through the sign-up process. At the "Which email platform do you use?" screen, select ConvertKit.
You'll also need to provide your ConvertKit API key and API secret. You can obtain your API key and API secret here after logging into your ConvertKit account.
With that out of the way, let's cover how to set up Partner Programs and Referral Programs in SparkLoop:
Setting up a Partner Program
Log into your SparkLoop account and click the Partner Programs tab at the top, followed by + New Partner Program.
(If you don't see the Partner Programs tab, click the Switch to growth button next to your account's profile picture at the top right first.)
You'll see an onboarding checklist with action items such as:
Connecting a publication
Choosing your CPA (cost per acquisition) and spending limits
Setting up your subscriber quality criteria
Complete all the action items on the checklist and click the Submit for review button.
SparkLoop will review your Partner Program and update you on the onboarding outcome.
NOTE: The minimum budget for any Partner Program is currently $2,000 per month.

Setting up a Referral Program
Log into your SparkLoop account and click the Referral Programs tab at the top, followed by + New Referral Program.
(If you don't see the Referral Programs tab, click the Switch to growth button next to your account's profile picture at the top right first.)
On the Create new referral program screen, fill out your newsletter's name and click Create referral program.
You'll see an onboarding checklist with action items such as:
Setting a custom referral link domain
Generating your referral links
Adding your rewards
Complete all the action items on the checklist and click the Activate referral program button.
When you've activated your referral program, an assortment of custom fields will automatically be created in your subscribers' profiles in ConvertKit. These include custom fields for:
Each subscriber's unique referral link
How many people a subscriber has referred to you
Whether a subscriber had themselves been referred to you
SparkLoop will automatically update these custom fields as needed.
After that, use this pre-launch checklist to confirm your Referral Program is ready for use!
